how do i convert.avi to mpeg so it can burn to a dvd-r? do i need to convert it?

   there is a program called mediacoder….best coder ever made, and it’s free! it codes everything and it even can convert it to dvd (normal) format.

   There are mnay softwares that do this jo you can try Xilisoft AVI to DVD convertor or winAVI . To burn as dvd video disk the target file format is .vob.

   I have Super, DVDFlick and a host of other converters – Super is great but a little confusing. What you need is something that takes your avi file, converts it to dvd format and burns it to dvd-r – try Sothink Movie DVD Maker – it’s simple to use and free here

   If you wanted to convert from avi to mpeg, I would have to say the easiest converter is blaze media pro. There you can convert to avi mpeg or wmv. I hope this helped.
